Endowed Professor / Distinguished Scholar

About the role
The university seeks an Endowed Professor/Distinguished Scholar to lead and expand teacher education initiatives. This senior academic position will guide program development, foster community partnerships, and maintain an active research agenda.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a rural teacher and administrator training program in collaboration with local school districts.
- Establish summer institutes and professional development workshops for K‑12 educators, administrators, and school boards.
- Develop and teach advanced training courses for teacher preparation.
- Secure external funding and manage grant activities to support educational initiatives.
- Participate on university, state, and local committees, boards, and task forces.
- Deliver presentations and in‑service training to community stakeholders.
Required profile
- Doctorate in Education or a closely related field.
- Established record of scholarly contributions, including publications, grants, and national recognition in teacher education.
- Demonstrated experience integrating technology into high‑needs teacher preparation programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building effective relationships on and off campus.
