Employee Relations Consultant

About the role

The Employee Relations Consultant provides strategic oversight and support for employee relations across a defined region and business segments. Acting as a key advisor and liaison, the role partners with HR Business Partners and Legal to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant workplace practices.

Key responsibilities

• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Resolve moderately complex employee relations issues and document cases with clear justifications in the Case Management system.
• Support internal audits, recommend corrective actions, and maintain case consistency to mitigate risk.
• Serve as a liaison between training teams and managers to address skill gaps and promote best practices.
• Monitor and report on employee relations trends and metrics.
• Participate in grievance procedures and ensure compliance‑related documentation is accurate.
• Assist with HR initiatives and special projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related business field (or a high school diploma with 4 years of relevant experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Employee Relations or a related HR discipline, including enforcement of state and federal labor, wage, and hour laws.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a customer‑oriented approach.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive issues.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Analytical mindset with proven problem‑solving capabilities.
• Self‑directed, able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Case Management system for documenting employee relations cases.
