Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

About the role

The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care, coordinates education and self‑management, and ensures high customer satisfaction throughout the care continuum. This position works within a multidisciplinary team to influence positive patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care following the nursing process.
• Administer medications and perform procedures according to established policies.
• Coordinate patient education and self‑management plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with VA guidelines.

Required profile

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for VA employment under applicable qualification standards.
