EMC RF Engineer

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to carry out testing, evaluation, integration and configuration of U.S. Navy Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)/EMC test plans
• Take part in EMI/EMC test planning meetings and test readiness reviews
• Perform EMI/EMC testing, gather, reduce and analyze the resulting data
• Prepare and publish detailed EMI/EMC test reports
• Review technical documentation and support technical meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with an RF focus, or Physics with an emphasis on EMI, electric field propagation and/or EMC
• Demonstrated experience in research, development, test, engineering or integration of Navy RF sensors and systems, including one or more of: E3, EMI/EMC testing, EMI problem investigation, spectrum, EMI/EMC analysis and assessment, EMI control and mitigation, MATLAB programming, or use of RF equipment
• SECRET security clearance (interim clearance acceptable to start); U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET clearance

Preferred qualifications

• U.S. Navy surface ship combat/weapon systems experience and understanding
• MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464 practice and understanding
