Embedded Systems Validation/Test Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Systems Validation/Test Engineer to develop and execute low‑level test content, firmware, and FPGA prototypes for subsystem and SoC platforms. You will work closely with hardware, firmware, and security teams to bring up and validate first silicon in a lab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop C/C++ based test suites, bare‑metal drivers, and custom firmware for subsystem and SoC verification.
• Extend compile and build flows to support firmware‑style tests and integrate them into continuous validation pipelines.
• Own FPGA prototyping platforms (e.g., HAPS, Xilinx): create board images, generate bit files, and design custom RTL for protocol interfaces.
• Build and maintain Python tooling to interface with FPGA platforms and automate test execution.
• Debug FPGA and post‑silicon issues using JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Lead post‑silicon bring‑up activities, run validation suites on first silicon, and meet exit criteria on schedule.
• Root‑cause failing tests, analyze scan dumps, coordinate cross‑team debugging, and deliver fixes for boot ROM, BIST, driver, and register issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in embedded systems validation, FPGA prototyping, and post‑silicon bring‑up.
• Proven ability to work across architecture, design, firmware, and validation teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, and SystemVerilog testbenches.
• Hands‑on experience with FPGA platforms (HAPS, Xilinx) and custom RTL development.
• Strong Python scripting skills (or similar languages such as Perl/Ruby) for automation.
• Hardware debug expertise using JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Knowledge of low‑level embedded software: assembly, startup code, linker scripts, Makefile‑based builds.
• Familiarity with industry protocols: AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB), JTAG, SPI, I2C/I3C, USB.
