Embedded Software Engineer or Firmware Engineer

About the role

This position focuses on developing and maintaining embedded software (firmware) for a Class III medical device. The engineer will work on the full lifecycle, from requirements analysis to verification testing, ensuring compliance with strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, modify, and test embedded software using C, C++ and Python.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests, as well as firmware verification tests.
• Document development activities, test results, change requests, and compliance reports according to approved procedures.
• Track development effort and maintain records in the designated tracking tool.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define system requirements and implement necessary modifications.
• Apply and uphold quality system requirements throughout all work.

Required profile

• 5‑13 years of experience with a BS, 7‑11 years with an MS, or 4‑8 years with a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, or automotive.
• Strong technical leadership and communication abilities.
