Embedded Software Engineer (Drone Stack)

About the role

Applied Intuition is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Drone Stack team. The role focuses on designing, integrating, and fielding autonomy and vehicle‑intelligence systems for defense and commercial unmanned aerial vehicles. You will bring autonomy stacks to life on real platforms, conduct software‑in‑the‑loop and hardware‑in‑the‑loop evaluations, and support live flight testing.

Key responsibilities

• Build and adapt modular autonomy capabilities for a variety of defense missions on embedded Linux and other compute platforms.
• Integrate autonomy software with vehicle hardware, including autopilots, datalinks, sensor payloads, PNT/GPS/INS, and ground control stations.
• Develop service‑oriented architecture components and inter‑process messaging frameworks for autonomous UAVs.
• Perform system‑level bring‑up, testing, and validation using SIL and HIL methodologies.
• Participate in live flight testing across multiple UAV groups and troubleshoot complex software and integration issues.
