Elementary Education Teacher (Temporary)

About the role

This temporary position is for an Elementary Education Teacher covering a leave of absence. The teacher will work in their certified subject area, receive the regular teacher salary schedule, and be eligible for health benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that promote active learning.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
• Maintain a well‑organized classroom environment and manage student behavior.
• Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback.
• Record and report student progress in accordance with district policies.
• Utilize appropriate instructional resources and technology to support diverse learning needs.

Required profile

• Valid New York State or Buffalo certification in the subject area applied for.
• Proof of certification must be attached to the application (PDF or screenshot).
• Preference given to candidates who reside in the City of Buffalo.
