Electronics Technician 2

About the role

The Electronics Technician supports the Federal Aviation Administration under the Technical Support Services Contract (T5). Working in the field, you will install, modify, test, troubleshoot and maintain electronic systems that keep the National Airspace System safe and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Install, relocate and remove navigation aids, communications and surveillance equipment, including associated power and grounding.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems at the unit, board or module level using multimeters, oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings and technical orders.
• Route, terminate, label and test coax, fiber and copper cables and assist with system power‑up and functional testing.
• Document work in maintenance logs, service tickets and test forms in accordance with FAA and Parsons requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of experience with basic analog and digital electronics, RF fundamentals and standard test equipment.
• Ability to travel up to 100% within the United States and lift up to 50 lb.
• Pass a federal background check and meet FAA security requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics and RF/communications equipment.
• Proficiency with electronic test instruments (digital multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator).
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Experience routing and terminating coaxial, fiber and copper cables.
• Basic Microsoft Office, Internet and email usage.
