Electronic Technician III

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician III for its team at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. This is an advanced-level position providing technical support to ground-based electronic systems, with duties covering installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, modification, construction and testing of electronic equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies, indicators, displays and antenna positioning systems.
• Use electronic principles, diagrams, schematics and engineering data to solve problems, and troubleshoot to the component level to make repairs.
• Interpret computer displays, assist lower-level technicians, and report corrections, quality issues, supply discrepancies and inventory results.
• Lead inspections, implement approved configuration changes, perform status reporting and maintenance data collection, and comply with quality control and safety programs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience and a degree from an accredited college or technical school in Electronics, or equivalent military training.
• High school diploma, valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required).
• Ability to speak, read and write English, work indoors and outdoors, travel to remote locations, and reside near or relocate to Fairbanks/Eielson AFB.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, circuit diagrams and test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltage and frequency meters and analyzers.
• Expert-level troubleshooting and familiarity with radar and high-power transmitters, tubes, transistors, logic gates and RF devices preferred.
