Electronic Technician I, Maintenance

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Technician I for its team at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. This is an entry-level position involving simple or routine technical tasks carried out according to detailed instructions, under the guidance of a supervisor or higher-level technician, with work audited for accuracy. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government security clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, troubleshoot, modify, construct and test electronic equipment and related devices
• Operate and maintain transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and control equipment, microwave amplifiers, high-voltage power supplies, indicators, displays and antenna positioning systems
• Use diagrams, schematics and engineering data to solve basic problems and diagnose malfunctions
• Troubleshoot to component level, make repairs, and report corrections, quality issues, supply discrepancies and inventory results
• Assist with inspections, configuration changes, equipment status reporting and maintenance data collection
• Comply with quality control and safety programs and perform other assigned duties

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electronics preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in electronics maintenance or repair
• Basic knowledge of DC and AC electronics, digital logic and solid-state devices and circuits
• Familiarity with radar and high-power transmitters or similar systems preferred
• Valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to speak, read and write English
• Willingness to live near or relocate to Fairbanks/Eielson AFB, Alaska, and to work indoors, outdoors and travel to remote locations

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Desired: familiarity with threat systems, Cyrillic reading, and electronic, electromechanical and computer systems
