Electronic Hardware Design Engineer

About the role

Cornelis Networks is seeking an experienced Electronic Hardware Design Engineer to lead system and PCB development for its next‑generation Fabric platforms. The role involves end‑to‑end hardware design, from concept through production and product end‑of‑life, working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and marketing teams to define platform architectures, board requirements, schedules, and cost targets.
• Develop system and board architectures, select components, and create engineering documentation.
• Produce design files including schematics, FPGA code, and source code, and support layout activities.
• Assist software engineers with integration and support system test for product qualification.
• Coordinate compliance, regulatory testing, and transition of designs into production with manufacturing.

Required profile

• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years experience in platform/test card specification, design, debug, and lab bring‑up.
• Strong background in digital board design, signal integrity basics, and use of layout and schematic capture tools (Cadence, ORCAD, Mentor Graphics).
• Proven ability to debug system‑level issues and use lab equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Cadence Concept and Allegro CAD tools.
• Board layout and schematic capture (Cadence, ORCAD, Mentor Graphics).
• FPGA development, Verilog, and programmable logic devices.
• Programming languages: C, Python, Visual Basic, Perl, TCL, RTL.
• Signal integrity and power integrity simulation tools.
• Timing analysis and functional simulation.
