Electro-Mechanical Technician – 4 Nights On/4 Nights Off

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join the MTO ASPEX Production Team in Fort Worth, Texas. The role works a 4‑nights‑on, 4‑nights‑off schedule, providing hands‑on maintenance and troubleshooting for high‑speed filling and packaging equipment in a cGMP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic issues on production lines.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans.
• Perform technical setup and start‑up of equipment, ensuring compliance with cGMP and aseptic standards.
• Collaborate with Production to identify reliability issues and provide status updates.
• Support plant engineers with new equipment installations and engineering changes.
• Train and mentor new coworkers, sharing knowledge to improve team capability.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial maintenance or electro‑mechanical experience.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
• On‑site work in Fort Worth with a 4‑nights‑on/4‑nights‑off shift pattern.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.
• No relocation assistance or sponsorship provided.

Required skills

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Pneumatic and electronic system maintenance.
• PLC programming, VFDs, photo‑eyes, and general automation knowledge.
• Use of hand and power tools, test equipment, and aseptic techniques.
• Writing and executing SOPs and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Experience with high‑volume, high‑speed filling and carton equipment.
