Electrician Foreman - Seasonal Contract

About the role

Amentum is hiring an Electrician Foreman for a seasonal contract supporting the National Science Foundation's United States Antarctic Program under the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC). The foreman supervises and performs electrical maintenance or construction work, or both, under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor or Assistant Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, with tasking based on prior experience and ASC schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the Facilities Electric Shop, electricians and apprentices, and assign duties to subordinate staff
• Install branch circuits, power distribution wiring, equipment, fixtures, lighting and conduit in line with the NEC
• Diagnose, repair and carry out preventative maintenance on existing systems
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers and other electrical components; read schematics, blueprints and wiring diagrams
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside normal hours
• Maintain accurate records of hours, tasking, materials and hazards, and prepare work plans, hazard analyses and safety forms
• Follow ASC environmental, safety, health, waste management and quality assurance requirements, including the electrical safety program and LOTO procedures
• Review and approve timesheets and Maximo work orders, give performance feedback and help with re-hiring and advancement

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Journeyman or Master Electrician license, or equivalent union membership in good standing; a Journeyman license under 8,000 hours or residential type does not qualify
• At least eight years of documented electrical experience, including rough-in, trim-out, conduit and power distribution wiring up to 4160V, with at least three years in a lead or supervisory position
• Experience in construction and maintenance of commercial and industrial facilities

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of the NEC and electrical safety procedures (NFPA 70E and OSHA)
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment, LOTO, confined space safety and PPE selection
• Intermediate computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn maintenance tracking software
