Electrical Technician II

About the role

Amentum is looking for an Electrical Technician II to join its operations and maintenance team in New Albany, Ohio. The technician works at an intermediate level of expertise, helping with preventative maintenance of heating and cooling, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. The role prioritizes work according to client needs, keeps work on schedule and supports site engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain current and future facility electrical systems and assist with electrical expansion projects.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical equipment and control circuits from 24V up to 480V AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation, PLCs, ladder logic controllers and variable frequency drives.
• Work safely near or around 13.8 kV.
• Inspect, maintain and repair critical infrastructure such as servers, network equipment, PLCs, access control, alarm investigation and SCADA management.
• Read blueprints, schematics, ladder logic and sequence of operations, tour systems and assess their condition.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment via the CMMS and respond to customer work orders.
• Follow federal, state and local electrical codes and NFPA 70E, and follow lockout/tagout, hazard analysis and PPE requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-4 years of experience as an electrician in a data center, industrial, hospital or manufacturing setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
• Self-motivated, organized and able to manage time; overtime, holidays and weekends may be required.
• Valid driver's license and security badge access at the client site may be required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft products and computer use.
• Use of measuring tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauges and calipers.
• Reading schematics, ladder logic and sequence of operations.
