Electrical Technician - Final Assembly & Test (UAV/Drone Systems)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our production team, responsible for the final assembly, wiring, and functional testing of complex unmanned aerial systems built for firefighting and other mission‑critical applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform final assembly of electronics, including wiring harnesses, power distribution, flight controllers, motors/ESCs, sensors, and payloads.
• Solder and rework components to high workmanship standards and crimp/terminate various connectors (JST, Molex, Deans, etc.).
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair PCBs and PCB assemblies.
• Conduct functional and systems‑level testing such as power‑on, continuity, sensor calibration, motor verification, and communication link checks.
• Diagnose electrical faults using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
• Document test results, non‑conformances, and assembly deviations per quality procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve design‑for‑assembly and design‑for‑test issues.
• Maintain calibrated tools, test equipment, and ESD‑safe workstations.
• Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Follow safety protocols, especially for LiPo/Li‑ion battery handling and high‑current systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on electrical/electromechanical assembly experience, preferably with UAV, robotics, or aerospace systems.
• Proven experience building, integrating, repairing, or testing UAV platforms.
• Strong soldering skills (through‑hole and SMT) and high‑quality crimping/wire‑harness fabrication.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting PCBs/PCBAs at the component level.
• Solid understanding of basic electrical principles and test equipment operation.
• Attention to detail with rigorous documentation discipline.
• Capability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
