Electrical Manager – Medium Voltage (Utility Solar)

About the role

The Electrical Manager will coordinate planning and execution of electrical works on a utility‑scale solar site. Reporting to the Site Manager, the role ensures high‑quality installation, compliance with specifications, and effective collaboration with contractors and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee installation of underground cabling, module‑to‑module wiring, combiner box terminations, and the DC collection system.
• Review drawings, constructability, submittals and provide feedback to engineering, ensuring material and workmanship quality.
• Collaborate with the Site Manager and owner’s Project Manager on schedule reviews and updates.
• Supervise field crews, enforce quality control, and monitor safety, quality, and efficiency of contractor work.
• Manage interface with personnel responsible for connecting the project to the existing transmission system.
• Attend project meetings, acting as liaison between engineers, contractors, and craft workers.
• Maintain relationships with site visitors, customers, and contractors.
• Review logistics, procurement, staffing, and coordination of electrical resources.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in electrical installations.
• Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium‑voltage cables.
• Current driver’s license.

Required skills

• Testing methods: current injection, Hi‑pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings, sketches, and prints.
• Experience with underground duct banks, trenching, manholes, vaults, and pad‑mount transformers.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems used in the power industry.
