Electrical Engineer I – Entry Level

About the role

The Electrical Engineer I position is an entry‑level engineering role supporting the Kansas City National Security Campus. You will work on routine engineering tasks for new and existing projects, applying standard engineering principles to ensure product quality and mission success.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in design and project/process management of new and current products, tools, and acceptance equipment under senior engineer guidance.
• Prepare product definitions, manufacturing drawings, specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
• Develop and execute electrical and environmental test procedures, perform engineering evaluation tests, and conduct product and process capability studies.
• Define and acquire tooling, cables, and equipment needed for manufacturing and inspection.
• Coordinate with design agencies, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve design, development, production, and acceptance issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies that improve productivity, quality, and operational surety.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics from an ABET‑accredited university.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.
• Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on‑site as directed.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Previous relevant internship experience is preferred.
