Electrical Designer

About the role

Founded in 1973, ISG is a multi-disciplinary, full-service architecture, engineering, planning and interior design firm. It is hiring a dedicated Electrical Designer in Mankato, Minnesota, who will work as an ISG Employee Owner alongside other employee owners. The designer creates electrical systems for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings, collaborating with architects, engineers and colleagues to deliver efficient, sustainable designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and low-voltage systems
• Perform load calculations, circuiting and equipment selection
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural and architectural disciplines for integrated design
• Review and apply relevant codes and standards
• Assist with cost estimates and material take-offs
• Take part in site visits and field investigations to verify existing conditions
• Support construction administration by answering RFIs and reviewing submittals

Required profile

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in electrical design within the AEC industry
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and teamwork
