Electrical Construction Systems Technology Adjunct Instructor

About the role

Athens Technical College seeks an experienced professional to teach Electrical Construction Systems Technology courses as an adjunct instructor. The role supports the college’s mission to deliver high‑quality technical education to Georgia’s workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with program outcomes and approved syllabus.
• Prepare and deliver instruction using Blackboard and other learning platforms.
• Administer, grade examinations and maintain accurate student records.
• Evaluate student progress and provide performance appraisals to the program chair.
• Participate in curriculum review, textbook selection, and program meetings.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in training areas.
• Complete required employee trainings and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical Systems Technology from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three years of relevant work experience in electrical systems technology.
• Credentialing that satisfies accrediting bodies for the assigned courses.
• Preferred: Associate degree, current Georgia Electrical Contractor’s License, knowledge of PLCs, AFDDs, electric motors and VFDs, prior post‑secondary teaching experience, and online teaching experience.
