EEG Technician – Per Diem (Part‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Per Diem EEG Technician to perform electroencephalography studies on patients. This part‑time, temporary position supports physicians in diagnosing neurological conditions such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, and strokes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform EEG tests ordered by physicians, preparing patients and attaching monitoring devices.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate EEG equipment, ensuring accurate data collection.
• Monitor patients during testing, record observations, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Analyze test data for quality, document results, and report findings to physicians.
• Maintain a clean laboratory environment, perform routine equipment maintenance, and follow quality‑control procedures.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience, certification or license as required by the department.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience operating EEG or related neuro‑diagnostic equipment.
• Knowledge of university and unit policies, ability to safeguard assets, and adherence to safety standards.

Required skills

• EEG equipment operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with standard office software and computer applications.
