About the role

The University of Miami is seeking an EEG Technician 1 to perform and oversee electroencephalogram testing for patients. This full‑time staff position supports physicians by ensuring accurate EEG procedures and maintaining equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform EEG tests accurately as ordered by physicians.
  • Manage and review patient records, interviewing patients for additional information.
  • Prepare patients by attaching monitoring devices and explaining test procedures.
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain EEG equipment.
  • Monitor patients during testing, record observations, and ensure data quality.
  • Analyze test data and report results to physicians.
  • Supervise equipment maintenance, keep work areas clean, and enforce quality‑control procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs.
  • Follow university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.
