Education Program Specialist – Math

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks an Education Program Specialist focused on K‑12 mathematics. Reporting to the Georgia Department of Education, you will lead the communication, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Mathematics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review, and distribute instructional resources aligned with the Mathematics Georgia Standards of Excellence.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver professional learning opportunities for teachers and instructional leaders.
• Provide technical assistance and subject‑matter expertise to local school districts on curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to support statewide mathematics initiatives.
• Maintain web‑based mathematics content and assist in the development of assessments and instructional materials.
• Analyze educational data to recommend program improvements and support the GaDOE strategic plan.

Required profile

• Experience as a mathematics instructional leader or curriculum director at the district level.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience managing grants, professional learning programs, or statewide standards implementation.
• Ability to travel statewide as required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
