About the role

Lead the Cell Press journal Device, shaping its editorial vision and driving its growth as a premier outlet for applied research across physics, engineering, computer science and related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the journal’s aims, scope, priorities and formats to maintain impact and relevance.
• Manage the in‑house editorial team and oversee rigorous peer‑review processes.
• Leverage a global network of leading researchers to attract high‑quality submissions.
• Travel widely to engage with the research community, attend conferences and visit institutes.
• Collaborate with other Cell Press editorial teams and internal Operations, Marketing and Press groups.

Required profile

• Proven research expertise and broad interest across the journal’s multidisciplinary scope.
• Extensive international network of researchers and ability to influence and engage them.
• Strong conceptual and critical thinking about scientific issues.
• Demonstrated organizational, project‑management, leadership and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; extensive editorial experience valued.
