Economic Empowerment Fall 2026 Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a motivated intern to support its Economic Empowerment program during the Fall 2026 term. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience working with vulnerable populations and learning about IRC’s resettlement services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with data entry and maintain client records using Microsoft Excel.
• Support the preparation of reports and documentation for IRC’s federal service agreements.
• Handle sensitive client information with strict confidentiality.
• Participate in training sessions on IRC programming, policies, and interpreting guidelines (if applicable).
• Collaborate with team members to provide client services and outreach.

Required profile

• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or less than 12 months post‑graduation.
• U.S. citizen or holder of an active, compliant work authorization visa.
• Available during IRC business hours (Mon‑Fri, 9 AM‑5 PM) and able to commit to multiple terms.
• Strong intercultural communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
