Early Years French Teaching Assistant (PYP)

About the role

The Early Years French Teaching Assistant supports two full‑time teachers in a classroom of 3‑ and 4‑year‑old learners, delivering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) through a play‑based, inquiry‑driven approach. The role focuses on fostering an inclusive, multilingual environment where young children develop curiosity and confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑teach and collaborate with the lead teacher to design and deliver transdisciplinary, play‑based lessons.
• Provide differentiated instruction for small groups and individual learners, especially in French language development.
• Build positive relationships with students, promoting a restorative and supportive classroom community.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive atmosphere that values linguistic, cultural, racial, and ethnic identities.
• Assist with classroom management, preparation of materials, and documentation of student progress.
• Participate in ongoing professional development related to the IB PYP framework and early childhood best practices.

Required profile

Required skills
