Drone Technician – Assembly & Field Service

About the role

DMR Technologies is seeking hands‑on individuals to join its fast‑growing drone manufacturing team in Lafayette, LA. As a Drone Technician you will start in a climate‑controlled shop assembling and testing agricultural and mapping drones, then progress to field service as you gain experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble drone components using work instructions, diagrams and video guides.
• Install mechanical systems such as hoses, nozzles, carbon‑fiber tubing and motors (≈70% of time).
• Run basic wiring and electrical connections according to schematics (≈30% of time).
• Perform routine service inspections, 15‑point checks, nozzle replacements and consumable changes.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical issues both in‑shop and on‑site.
• Develop skills to fly, diagnose and test drones as proficiency grows.

Required profile

• Any hands‑on mechanical or electrical background (HVAC, automotive, electronics, military, construction, etc.).
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently.
• Curiosity, problem‑solving mindset and a detail‑oriented, team‑first attitude.
• Willingness to travel 15–30% for field assignments.
