DRGV Auditor II

About the role

R1 is a provider of technology-driven solutions for hospitals, health systems and medical groups, combining revenue cycle professionals with an advanced technology platform. As a DRGV Auditor II, you will audit inpatient cases for DRG validation and/or documentation improvement, reviewing accounts in proprietary software and client electronic medical record (EMR) systems. The role is remote and offers growth into a client-facing Lead Auditor or an internally facing Mentor role.

Key responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to validate DRG assignments.
• Provide detailed rationale and supporting evidence for recommendations and findings.
• Use industry-recognized references such as the ICD-10 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding, AHIMA Practice Briefs on compliant querying, and AHA Coding Clinics.

Required profile

• Current AHIMA credential of RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS.
• 3+ years of ICD-10 auditing and DRG reimbursement experience, including recent acute inpatient auditing.

What we offer

• Base pay range of $52,025 to $97,528.69 per year, depending on role, level, location, skills, experience and education.
• Eligibility for an annual bonus plan at a target of 5%.
