DRG-V Auditor I

About the role

R1 RCM Inc., a provider of technology-driven solutions for healthcare revenue cycles, is hiring a DRG Validation Auditor I for a remote, US-based position. The main task is auditing inpatient cases for DRG validation and documentation improvement, which means reviewing accounts in proprietary software and client electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to validate DRG assignments.
• Provide detailed rationale and supporting evidence for recommendations and findings.
• Use industry-recognized references such as the ICD-10 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding, AHIMA Practice Briefs on compliant querying, and AHA Coding Clinics.

Required profile

• Current AHIMA credential of RHIA, RHIT and/or CCS.
• 3+ years of ICD-10 coding and DRG reimbursement experience, including recent acute inpatient auditing.

Required skills

• Experience with multiple EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner and Meditech.

What we offer

• Base pay range of $48,131 to $81,225 per year, depending on role, level, location, skills, experience and education.
• Eligibility for an annual bonus plan at a target of 5%.
