Document Management Technician (RECA Program)

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Document Management Technician (DMT) for the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) program of the DOJ Civil Division. The DMT works under the direction of a Project Manager and ensures that incoming materials supporting RECA claims are handled efficiently and accurately. The position is temporary, full-time, with benefits and the potential to become regular full-time later.

Key responsibilities

• Scan and copy incoming materials related to claims processing.
• Enter data from paper documents into the database.
• Save and categorize scanned documents according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate tracking of document movement, including mailing and returns.
• Adhere to strict confidentiality and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) facility credentials; US citizenship is required for MRPT at this location.
• Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately and under pressure.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and understand the task's place in the litigation support effort.
• Initiative to ask questions when instructions are unclear or seem contrary to the task objective.
• Knowledgeable user of government office and network environments, including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging and telecommunications systems.
• Preferred: undergraduate degree.

Required skills

• Typing and keyboarding skills; 40 words per minute touch typing preferred.
• Good communication skills.
