Document Management Technician (RECA Claims Support)

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Document Management Technician (DMT) for the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) program of the DOJ Civil Division. The DMT works under the direction of a Project Manager and ensures that incoming materials supporting RECA claims are handled efficiently and accurately. The position is temporary, full-time, with full-time benefits and the potential to become regular full-time in the future.

Key responsibilities

• Scan and copy incoming materials related to claims processing.
• Enter data from paper documents into the database.
• Save and categorize scanned documents according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate tracking of document movement, including mailing and returns.
• Adhere to strict confidentiality and compliance standards.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) facility credentials; US citizenship is required for MRPT at this work location.
• Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately and under pressure.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and understand the task's place in the litigation support effort.
• Initiative to ask questions when instructions are unclear or seem contrary to the task objective.
• Good communication skills and knowledge of government office and network environments (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, telecommunications).
• Undergraduate degree preferred.

Required skills

• Typing: 40 words per minute touch typing preferred.
• Database entry and document scanning.
