District Accountant

About the role
We are seeking a detail‑oriented District Accountant to support property‑related financial operations in Orlando, Florida. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, delivering timely financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and year‑end processes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses comparing budgeted versus actual results.
- Maintain accounting documentation and records in line with established standards and policies.
- Manage reporting timelines to ensure all recurring and periodic financial deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Oversee the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, approval coordination, and vendor payment inquiries.
- Administer accounts receivable activities, issue billings, monitor collections, and reconcile outstanding balances.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Investigate and resolve account variances, discrepancies, and irregular transactions affecting the general ledger.
- Assist with budget planning, tracking, and ongoing financial monitoring for operational decision‑making.
- Coordinate audit preparation by organizing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Communicate with property owners on assessment‑related accounting matters and provide additional support as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property accounting, government, or related services.
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard financial reporting practices.
- Familiarity with audit procedures and preparation of supporting documentation for annual audits.
- Experience managing general ledger activity, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation.
