Distribution Assistant – Media Production

About the role

The Distribution Assistant supports the Media Production department by handling administrative tasks and ensuring smooth distribution of media content across multiple platforms. Working closely with the Distribution Supervisor, this role helps maintain the quality and consistency of the It Is Written brand.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and convert statistical reports into actionable insights.
• Conduct content acquisition research for the It Is Written TV channel.
• Proofread on‑screen text during post‑production.
• Pull engagement and analytics reports for the TV channel.
• Schedule programs and episodes for on‑demand distribution.
• Update and maintain program and episode thumbnails.
• Assist with closed captioning of video content.
• Maintain a library of programs and episodes.
• Serve as backup scheduler for the TV channel.
• Input content into automated transcoding and delivery software.
• Enter program metadata and tagging into databases.
• Create DVD ISO files.
• Respond promptly to phone, email, and other inquiries.
• Collaborate on branding compliance and process documentation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in communication, media production, English or related field preferred.
• Two years of relevant experience in a media or business environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Experience with transcoding and delivery software.
• Metadata management and tagging proficiency.
• Ability to create DVD ISO files.
• Closed captioning knowledge.
