Spanish Linguist

About the role

CACI is looking for fully cleared Spanish language professionals to join its prime contract supporting government operations in Fairfax, VA. The role uses both Spanish linguistic and analytical skills for mission-driven work, translating and transcribing intermediate to advanced printed materials and audio into grammatically correct American English, either as a lead linguist or as part of a team supporting CONUS and/or OCONUS operations. About 25% of travel outside the continental US is required.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and/or transcribe printed and audio source material into American English
• Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation
• Analyze and report on translated foreign-language source material
• Quality control of junior linguists
• Maintain databases of translated source material and scan intercepted data to judge relevance to mission needs

Required profile

• US citizen
• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph
• Ability to pass an advanced English test and to score ILR Level 3 or higher on a target-language translation test
• At least five years of professional experience in translation, transcription, translation and/or interpretation
• In-depth knowledge of the geopolitical, regional, ethnic and cultural aspects of the target language area
• Active passport and ability to travel up to 25%

Required skills

• Desired: Bachelor's degree and previous military experience

The position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. The stated pay range is $86,600 - $181,800.
