Distributed Systems Engineer

About the role

Kwil is seeking a Distributed Systems Engineer to develop and maintain distributed SQL database nodes across multiple data warehouses. The role works closely with the VP of Engineering on ETL pipelines, efficient data storage, caching systems, and other software essential for a decentralized database platform.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the engineering team to define and assign responsibilities for each development cycle.
• Design, build, and implement core components of the KwilDB platform.
• Establish documentation standards and formatting for new code added to the repository.
• Promote a culture of creativity, innovation, and agile decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing microservices and distributed systems, preferably using Golang.
• Background working on engineering teams within Agile development cycles.
• Strong knowledge of databases and distributed architecture concepts.
• Expertise in scripting and test automation.
• Passion for Web3, blockchain, and decentralization with an understanding of database roles in this space.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to solve problems autonomously when solutions are not obvious.
