About the role

AVEVA is seeking a seasoned AI technologist to join its AI Investigation and Incubation team. This hands‑on engineering lead role focuses on exploring, prototyping, and validating emerging AI technologies to create real‑world solutions for industrial software customers.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging AI technologies for practical applicability and deployability.
• Investigate, develop, fine‑tune, evaluate, and benchmark AI/ML models.
• Design, build, and iterate on working prototypes, proofs‑of‑concept, and pilot projects.
• Assess AI approaches for scalability, reliability, cost, security, and operational feasibility.
• Document AI investigation and architectural decisions related to model deployment and integration.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to transition prototypes to later‑stage development or downstream products.
• Present findings and actionable recommendations to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Mentor and coach junior team members.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 4 years in a technical lead role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale AI/ML incubations or complex deep‑tech initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills for senior leadership audiences.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep‑learning frameworks such as Jax, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Experience with state‑of‑the‑art ML techniques, including world models, foundation models, multi‑modal language models, agent‑based systems, and context retrieval/augmentation.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range of $213,500 – $425,500 per year.
