Dispatcher – Day Shift

About the role

Waabi is building generative AI for the physical world, starting with autonomous trucks. The Dispatcher on the day shift manages missions and systems for the Texas road‑operations terminal, orchestrating crew, truck and trailer assignments while serving as the operational nerve center.

Key responsibilities

• Curate and assign test and commercial missions to maximize fleet utilization and adapt to changing priorities.
• Monitor real‑time mission execution, autonomy health, and fleet stability, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Own the communications desk, maintain live availability, and handle the Waabi hotline during the shift.
• Act as first‑line responder for incidents, perform remote troubleshooting, and decide go/no‑go for truck departures.
• Lead, coach, and develop Fleet Specialists, overseeing assignments, performance assessments, and on‑road trainee sign‑off.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in dispatch, fleet operations, mission control, or a technical operations center.
• Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise others, with direct‑report experience preferred.
• Strong coordination, problem‑solving, and judgment under pressure, with familiarity with DOT/FMSA regulations.

Required skills

• Linux and terminal command experience.
• Python scripting or other coding ability.
• Proficiency with fleet management, dispatch and routing tools, and telematics platforms.
• Experience using Jira, Fleetio, Motive, or comparable platforms.
