Dishwasher - PNC Field Concessions

About the role

A seasonal, part-time Dishwasher is needed for the concessions-culinary department at PNC Field, the 10,000-seat baseball stadium in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre that hosts baseball games and other events. The role reports to the Executive Chef and is paid hourly (non-exempt). It involves washing dishes, cleaning food prep areas and supporting food and beverage service during events.

Key responsibilities

• Scrape, wash, sanitize and properly store china, flatware, glassware, utensils and kitchen equipment according to venue standards and health department regulations.
• Collect dirty small wares from scullery points and return them to the dish area; organize and return clean small wares to storage.
• Maintain kitchen and small wares storage areas and clean and organize food prep areas daily.
• Keep floors clean and dry by sweeping and mopping, and watch for slip hazards.
• Help Front of House during busy events, set up breakdown stations, and organize plates, lids, hot boxes and tables for plate-up and plating.
• Transport loaded hot boxes to pass-out stations and provide busing and cleanup support for Food & Beverage services.
• Dispose of trash, including hosing out garbage cans, and meet uniform and appearance standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating a commercial dish machine is preferred.
• Basic food preparation experience is preferred.
• Ability to take direction and work well in a team, and to stay calm under pressure.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to work late hours, weekends and holidays as needed.

• Ability to adapt quickly to last-minute changes and to work independently with sound judgment.
• Physical demands include long periods on your feet, moving up to 50 pounds and heavy carts, and working in a loud environment.
