Director of Sales

About the role

The Strider Hotel, a new luxury lifestyle hotel by Hilton's Curio Collection in Brighton, MA, is preparing to become one of Boston Landing's premier hospitality destinations. It is seeking a Director of Sales to build demand, expand market presence and establish lasting relationships that drive the hotel's success. The role sits on a growth path from Area Director to Regional Director of Sales to VP of Sales.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates so they meet brand and hotel standards.
• Use data to develop strategic plans covering all business segments and monitor sales team objectives against the annual marketing plan.
• Identify customer needs, craft offers and negotiate terms that increase revenue share.
• Maintain key account relationships and achieve annual revenue goals set in the budget.
• Prepare and maintain an annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives for each segment.
• Travel locally to make outside calls, promote the hotel and review the competition.
• Follow sustainability guidelines of the HHM EarthView program and perform other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• Four-year college degree required; advanced coursework in business administration, marketing and communications is a plus.
• Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope required; operations experience preferred.
• Public relations and community marketing experience required.
• Ability to work varying hours, including occasionally on holidays and weekends, and moderate travel between hotel and client sites.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Delphi and access database tools.
• Strong presentation skills, oral and written.
