About the role

Dakar NOLA, a modern Senegalese tasting‑menu restaurant in New Orleans, is seeking a reliable Dishwasher to support its kitchen team. Working closely with the Sous Chef and kitchen staff, you will help maintain a clean, organized environment that enables the creation of high‑quality West African dishes.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate and maintain commercial dishwashing machines.
• Keep the dish area clean, organized, and stocked.
• Remove trash, recycling, and break‑down boxes.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, clean spills, and maintain overall kitchen hygiene.
• Clean and sanitize counters, sinks, shelves, kitchen surfaces, and dining‑room tables.
• Assist with restocking supplies as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and chemical‑handling procedures.
• Perform end‑of‑shift cleaning, including machine breakdown and floor cleaning.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of professional restaurant or kitchen experience (fine‑dining preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, high‑energy kitchen environment.
• Reliability in following directions and maintaining consistent standards.
• Positive attitude under pressure with good problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Commercial dishwashing machine operation and maintenance.
• Food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper chemical handling.
