Director, Warehouse Management Strategy

About the role

The Director of Warehouse Strategy drives the enterprise roadmap for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), warehouse profiling, slotting optimization and execution capabilities across the distribution network. Acting as the subject matter authority between technology, automation, data and operational design, the role works closely with Operations, Technology, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to deliver scalable, high-performance warehouse capabilities that support business growth and improve customer fulfillment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the enterprise WMS strategic roadmap, leading prioritization, modernization and configuration of system enhancements for efficiency, scalability and inventory accuracy.
• Design future-state warehouse workflows for receiving, replenishment, picking, packing and shipping, standardizing processes across network facilities, new builds and expansions.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and initiatives across Distribution Center leadership, Engineering, Technology and Finance to shape enterprise supply chain priorities.
• Evaluate emerging automation, robotics and advanced software solutions and align investments with the WMS architecture.
• Negotiate vendor contracts and price changes with major vendors.
• Build business cases, ROI models and capability frameworks for capital investments in supply chain technology.
• Set system governance, testing protocols and change management standards for WMS upgrades and multi-site deployments.
• Monitor KPIs such as labor utilization, inventory accuracy, pick efficiency and throughput, and share insights and dashboards with senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related discipline.
• Generally 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management or supervisory capacity.
• Ability to define problems, analyze them and decide how to achieve planned results within organizational plans and policies.
• May manage a department through multiple layers of managers or directly supervise a team of professional individual contributors at senior or technical advisor level.

Work environment: mostly indoor, mostly sitting with occasional movement and lifting of light items, and typically 20% to 50% overnight travel.
