Director, Small Business Sales Specialist

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director to lead its Small Business (SMB) sales efforts across North America. The role focuses on commercializing Mastercard’s solutions for small‑business owners, expanding market share, and strengthening relationships with issuer partners and new distribution channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the SMB go‑to‑market strategy for existing and new issuer partners across North America.
• Collaborate with Commercial, New Payment Flows, Transfer Solutions, and Corporate Solutions teams to cross‑sell and integrate Mastercard offerings.
• Partner with Account and Business Development teams to identify high‑potential opportunities, build a robust sales pipeline, and close deals.
• Drive commercialization initiatives by coordinating with Product, Marketing, Franchise, and Customer Delivery stakeholders.
• Lead client‑facing negotiations, ensuring SMB‑specific incentives are incorporated and Mastercard’s value proposition aligns with client needs.
• Track and manage pipeline performance using Salesforce (SFDC) and provide regular reporting.

Required profile

• Proven senior sales leadership experience, preferably within financial services or payments.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies for SMB segments.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with product, marketing, and account teams.
• Excellent negotiation and deal‑closing capabilities.
• Experience managing a high‑velocity sales pipeline and using CRM tools.
