Director, Site Budgets and Payments Operational Excellence

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for the end‑to‑end global processes that support site budgets and site payments across the organization. The role drives process architecture, integration, governance, analytics and continuous improvement to ensure scalable, compliant and sustainable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the global Site Budgets & Payments Operational Excellence capability, defining strategic direction and evolving process architecture, systems integration and governance.
• Establish and maintain globally consistent process documentation, change control and regional variations while ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate policies.
• Lead regional support models, onboarding and implementation, coordinating resources and ensuring adoption across regions.
• Build organizational capability through training, communications and knowledge management to improve readiness and operational effectiveness.
• Steward the integrated business process and systems roadmap, coordinating enhancement intake, prioritisation and delivery with functional and technology owners.
• Use analytics and performance metrics to guide priorities, measure adoption and support data‑driven decision‑making.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, finance, technology or related discipline; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years of clinical research experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, including leadership of operational teams.
• Strong business acumen in clinical trial financial operations, site payments and related processes.
• Proven ability to lead matrixed teams, develop talent and drive operational performance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with experience influencing senior leadership.
