Director / Senior Director, Origins

About the role

Lila is building Origins, an AI‑for‑science platform that connects ambitious investors with breakthrough deep‑tech and life‑science ventures. As Director / Senior Director, Origins you will own the end‑to‑end partnership journey, turning high‑potential contacts into long‑term strategic allies that fuel the platform’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and prioritize deep‑tech, life‑science, venture and growth fund investors, asset managers and family offices aligned with Origins’ thesis.
• Build and maintain a sophisticated partner pipeline, tracking investment theses, portfolio interests and decision‑making dynamics.
• Co‑lead outreach and negotiations alongside the Head of Origins, ensuring the right stakeholders are engaged from first contact to signed partnership.
• Represent Origins as a trusted senior voice, safeguarding Lila’s reputation and demonstrating scientific credibility.
• Steward relationships over time, expanding partner commitments as the Origins portfolio matures.
• Provide strategic feedback to shape Origins’ positioning, messaging and deal opportunities.

Required profile

• Deep, active network across deep‑tech and life‑science investors, science‑focused funds or sophisticated family offices.
• Scientific fluency sufficient to engage credibly with technical partners.
• Strong understanding of institutional investor priorities and partnership dynamics.
• Proven ability to manage complex, high‑stakes relationships and drive them to successful outcomes.
