About the role

The Director, Research Programs leads and oversees research initiatives within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This senior professional staff position is part of the Cancer and System Therapeutics department and reports to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for research programs.
• Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and external partners to advance research goals.
• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage program budgets and resources.
• Support acquisition of research funding and grant administration.

Required profile

• Current employee of the University of Arkansas System (including student employees and graduate assistants).
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Commitment to UAMS’s mission of improving patient care and advancing medical research.
