Director, R&D DDSAI Therapeutics Development Supply - AI Solutions

About the role

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Director to lead the R&D Data, Data Science and AI organization for Therapeutics Development & Supply. The role will shape AI-driven workflows, from model‑informed design to autonomous labs, and translate scientific data into production‑grade AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI Solutions strategy and portfolio roadmap aligned with TDS and DDSAI priorities.
• Lead design, build, validation and delivery of AI/ML, generative AI and agentic co‑scientist solutions.
• Establish reusable solution patterns, shared components and evaluation frameworks that scale across modalities.
• Set standards for model development, validation, monitoring and ensure compliance in regulated GxP environments.
• Recruit, develop and lead a team of applied data scientists, ML scientists and GenAI/NLP engineers.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in applied data science or AI solution development, with at least 3 years in people leadership.
• Proven ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders and to scale data‑science capability across an organization.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Applied machine learning, statistical modeling, GenAI/LLMs and agentic patterns.
• Cloud environments such as AWS and Snowflake.
• MLOps practices including model registries, feature stores, automated retraining and monitoring.
• Knowledge graphs, ontologies and semantic layers.
