Director, Pediatric Primary Care Clinic

About the role

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Holtz Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced academic pediatrician to lead the Pediatric Primary Care Clinic. This full‑time faculty role blends direct patient care, teaching, and operational leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall medical direction and operational oversight for the clinic, ensuring safe, efficient, patient‑centered care.
• Deliver outpatient pediatric services, including preventive, acute, and chronic disease management.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, workflows, and quality metrics aligned with departmental goals.
• Collaborate with nursing, administrative, and ancillary staff to optimize clinic operations and patient experience.
• Lead compliance efforts with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.
• Serve as attending faculty in the pediatric resident continuity clinic, supervising and teaching residents and medical students.
• Mentor residents, fellows, and faculty in clinical care, quality improvement, and professional development.
• Oversee quality‑improvement projects and evidence‑based initiatives.
• Develop and launch an academic general pediatric fellowship program.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible pediatrician with academic experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in a clinical or educational setting.
• Experience in quality improvement, clinical operations, and curriculum development.
• Commitment to family‑centered, high‑quality pediatric care.
