Director of Supplier Quality

About the role

The Director of Supplier Quality will lead Divergent’s global supplier quality strategy, ensuring that all externally sourced components, materials, and services meet rigorous quality, reliability, and performance standards from prototype through full‑rate production. This hands‑on leadership role blends strategic quality management, deep technical engagement with suppliers, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑growing advanced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and deploy a scalable supplier quality operating system supporting low‑volume, high‑complexity builds and repeatable production.
• Define supplier segmentation (strategic, critical, developmental, transactional) and establish governance forums such as a Supplier Quality Council.
• Develop a multi‑year roadmap for supplier quality maturity from prototype through industrialization and scale‑up.
• Own all supplier quality policies, procedures, and standard work, and drive digitization using QMS tools, real‑time dashboards, and supplier portals.
• Partner with sourcing during RFQ and supplier selection to assess technical capability, process maturity, capacity, and quality system robustness.
• Lead supplier risk assessments covering technical, operational, geopolitical, and financial dimensions.
• Design and execute qualification frameworks, including pre‑award audits and manufacturing readiness reviews.
