Director of Strategic Sourcing

About the role

Polaris Inc. is seeking a Director of Global Strategic Sourcing to lead the development and execution of category strategies for engineered components across its off‑road product platforms. This senior position oversees a global sourcing organization and manages roughly $600 M of direct material spend, influencing key enterprise decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global category strategies aligned with Total Cost of Ownership and long‑term business goals.
• Own and manage global direct material spend, driving improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and working capital.
• Lead, coach, and develop sourcing leaders and their teams.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, and Finance to align sourcing with product roadmaps.
• Influence design‑to‑cost, design‑for‑manufacturability, and early supplier involvement in new product development.
• Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and long‑term agreements with strategic suppliers.
• Represent Strategic Sourcing in initiatives such as localization, capacity strategy, supply‑base transformation, and risk mitigation.
• Drive supplier relationship and performance management to ensure continuity and resilience.
• Monitor market conditions, commodity trends, and geopolitical risks to proactively manage exposure.
• Establish standardized sourcing processes, governance, and best practices across regions.
