Director of Sports Performance

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a Director of Sports Performance to lead the strength and conditioning program for multiple intercollegiate teams. This senior position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance and works primarily with a flagship sport while supporting additional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement periodized strength and conditioning programs for assigned athletic teams.
• Conduct regular athlete performance testing and analyze results to guide training adjustments.
• Maintain and oversee the sports performance facility, ensuring equipment safety and availability.
• Collaborate with coaching staff to align conditioning plans with sport‑specific goals.
• Assist with additional teams as needed and support overall department initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
• Current NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or CSCCa Strength & Conditioning Certified (SCCC).
• Experience working with Division I athletic programs preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
